Finding Friends
I have just found my Best Friend from Primary school that moved back to Iceland over Facebook and I am over the moon. It means so much to me to have contact again with such a special person. She made my childhood magical. I'm so grateful to her for that, she is a wonderful person.

Online Magazines
Cheap, Eco Friendly and oh so clever! My favourite of those I have seen are the new Pandahead , Neet Magazine, and the online clips from Lula magazine . Enjoy everyone!

Late into College
It really does have an effect on my whole day. I'm calmer and happier. This could be due to the sun coming out and me being late in due to staying in bed with my boyfriend. It really fits in with ideas on karma and keeping your world happy. Love before work. Its a nice philosophy.

Tim Walker Exhibition
Ooo how much I want to go! Its at the Design Museum in London till September for anyone whose up for it! The show also comes with an accompanying book which at a hefty £70 is quite a bit more than I have...still swoon...

Other mentionable
French Toast with Fruit and Maple Syrup, Hearing that Patricia Field will be deigning a collection for M&S, Reading Art books with Friends, Lack of College, Planning New York, Being really rather unhealthy, Biba, Being Properly Lazy!

Oxfam? The new Topshop?

Oxfam the well known english charity shop (thrift shop, clothes donated) has a whole new look. The woman who turned Topshop into one of the best high-street stores, Jane Shepherdson, has taken over as Oxfam's Creative head. Key stores of the charity shops branches are being refitted to appeal to a whole chic'er market and will be packed with vintage designer finds, designer re-works of donated garments, ethically produced clothes and fair trade products. Companies such as People Tree, Poppy Valentine, Defray, Kitty Cooper and Wright & Teague will all contribute and be stocked in store. In general these stores will collect the best quality and designer vintage finds and collectively display them in select stores so that keen fashion buyers can find beautiful clothing easier.
This all sounds great however the whole idea does not appeal to me at all. The clothes displayed in these stores will be increased incredibly to their original mark up (or down) at a usual charity shop. Yes they may be 'bargin prices' when compared to buying the original new from a designer boutique, but not for the possible bargins you could of scored before the take-over. Gone will be the days of surprise designer finds at under a tenner or finding the best areas (usually richer) in which to find treasures. It reminds me of the price up on vintage when it becomes fashionable now a new source of popularity is being used to cash on (fair be it a worthy caus this time).I understand it will benefit some people (with more money and less time) but for me the searching and sucess in value for money is what keeps me going back for more. I just hope that if the boutiques are a success they will raise much needed funds for a charity that needs it.
For those that are interested in the collaborations with designers: Christopher Kane, Richard Sorger, Henry Holland, Stephen Jones, Giles Deacon, Jens Laugesen. Go to Ebay:

Things I love Thursday

Summer Weather
What more is there to be happy for? The sun is shinning and suddenly all the plants have bloomed, which looks so beautiful against the perfect blue sky (just the way it should be I think).

Summer Clothes
Related to the above change in our English weather, its interesting to see how peoples style of clothes change as soon as the clouds disappear. The more reserved British winter style (not for everyone!) that adopts a lot of black and swamps of layers to create unrealistic body shapes (not the flattering kind!), but come summer out comes an array of bright colours and such a large reduction of clothing it becomes quite a shocker! To me I think it illustrates a more personal choice in peoples appearance and therefore possibly our summer clothes are a greater representation of our own personal style?... I really need to get some more summer clothes!

Going Out
The evenings are stretching out with more daylight hours. Perfect for drinks, Eating dinner outside, Sitting around a fire pit, Clubbing, Walks. I hope that more of this is to come and cant wait for the next few weeks!

Skipping College
Ok, I know I shouldn't of but it was worth it. (missing it, not a college for skipping)

Mentionable
Healthier food becoming more appealing, Coconut and Chili chicken noodle salad (soooo good),  My new art work, Being near the end of my art project, Free time to come soon, Spending time with my boyfriend in the sun, Adventures.

Some New Work!

And the first of my own work to feature on here! Great thanks to my beautiful model who really made the images!

Britains Next Top Model Hair

Ok I'm not saying this is the most amazing programe on TV and has nothing on ANTM (unless you like lots of bitchyness) but I love the makeovers! My favourite is this beautiful hair cut on Alex. Its so short and has a certain pixi-ness to it that I love. Wish I could find such a haircut that would suit me so well!grrr! my search continues!:
